First week of school

As I've said in my recent post, I started coming to my new school last monday, December 6, 2010. And hell, since then I enjoyed every single day. No pretensions, new school, new environment, new friends. It's normal that first week of school is the awkward-getting-to-know stage in gaining friends. I'm actually lucky enough that my high school friend, Stella Monreal, has been going to the same school so that's some kind of an edge. :)

Working shoes/Chef's shoes

I don't have pants that's why I bought because we're required to wear black pants and white shirt until the uniform's given.

My book, chef's knife, pairing knife, and steel.

GCHA's loot bag.

Student's handbook.

Locker key.

My cousin fitted my uniform.

I was really excited to fit my uniform but when I already did, I got dismayed. Haha. I am so plump!!!

XOXO

Varieties of Cheese

Cheese is a food made from milk, usually the milk of cows, buffalo, goats, or sheep, by coagulation. The milk is acidified, typically with a bacterial culture, then the addition of the enzyme rennet or a substitute (e.g. acetic acid or vinegar) causes coagulation, to give "curds and whey". Some cheeses also have molds, either on the outer rind (similar to a fruit peel) or throughout. Cheese can be good addition to your food. -SOURCE-

STILTON CHEESE (They say this is a Roquefort cheese with a college education. I laughed when I heard that actually. It's funny right? Or am I weird? Haha)

ROQUEFORT CHEESE (The dark ones in the cheese are actually molds. Eew right? But they're hell expensive!)

PROVOLONE CHEESE

PARMESAN CHEESE (I love Parmesan! I swear do!)

MOZARELLA CHEESE (Used in Pizza.)

GOUDA CHEESE (Also known as Queso De Bola.)

GORGONZOLA CHEESE (Chef B said when it's your first time to try Blue vein cheese, you should start with this one because it's the mildest among the group then after tasting it, make your way up and taste the other.)

GOAT CHEESE (Also known as Chevre)

FETA CHEESE

EMMENTAL CHEESE (Jerry's cheese in Tom & Jerry cartoon)

CREAM CHEESE

CHEDDAR CHEESE (The most popular cheese!)

So I already finished my first week in school. It went fine. I was actually enjoying the information overload though I sometimes think if I can remember all the things that were being taught. I have to. No, I actually want to remember all of it by heart because I need them in the profession I want to pursue. Everything I have learned in my first week and everything I'm going to learn in the following weeks are very important. There's no such thing as not included, everything is critically needed.

So last thursday, December 09, 2010, we tackled about Cheeses. And I super enjoyed the discussion: first because Chef Brando is such a cool Chef instructor, he utter jokes once in a while and there's just so much knowledge he can and willing to share, second is because I'm really into cheese. Actually not just me, I think my whole family is into it that's why I decided to blog the information. There's just so many varieties of cheese to choose from, let us not stick with Cheddar and Gouda which are the two most commonly used. It's good to widen our tasting capacity and try everything else. So right now, I'm planning to buy different types of cheese to taste it. It's actually for me, Chefs has been telling us to broaden the horizon of our taste buds and I really can't wait to start from these cheeses. ♥

I have always love talking in becky's language. I think it's fun and very Filipino. I used to learn gay lingo from my older sister's wonderful gay friends and I even asked them to teach me the words close to 4 years ago. Some of the terms I learned are not in the article so here are they:

Adez = money.

Merlat = girl, lady or woman.

Ombre = boy, guy or man.

Wainichi = nothing or none.

Stressed Drilon = over-worked, overloaded.

Smelanie Marquez = pertaining to bad odor.

Fresh = someone who has a good aura or someone who is good-looking.

Dry = disappointment.

Antokyo Japan = feeling sleepy.

Luz Valdez = lose or lost.

Pagoda = tired.

Itembang = this.

Ditez = here.

Duonen = there.

Crayola = cry.

That's all folks. I hope you've learned something. Haha. ♥

Pants

I don't wear pants. I'm uncomfortable wearing one. It isn't about my beliefs or whatever. I just don't know why but I'm more comfortable with skirts, dresses and shorts but never a pants. Sounds crazy right? But it's so true. So I have a burden right now, 'cause I have to wear black pants and white shirt for my new school until our uniforms are given. How uncool is that? Atleast for me. And I think I have to wait a little longer for my uniform 'cause I enrolled just last week and the start of our class is already on Monday, December 6, 2010. I have not yet bought a pair but I really have to. Maybe it's time that I should learn how to wear pants. Oh, I wish I can be comfortable with it as I am with my dresses and skirts!

Ain't no rest for the wicked

I have been pretty busy these past few days. I'm always out and when it's time for me to check on my sites, I'm too tired or should I say too lazy to even put up a decent blog post. I have been busy due to school stuff, I went to my old school(CEU) for two consecutive days for the release of my TOR. I can't wait to get it! Getting it means I'm totally freed from that school. And I'm dying to be!! The other days, I went to my new school(GCHA): a day for my interview, another day for paying my tuition fee and another one for my orientation. I have not been taking photos due to stress and all. I'm actually so nervous before my interview but it ended just fine and I laughed at myself for torturing myself in being nervous. I got nervous too before my orientation 'cause I don't know what will going to happen but it was just merely an orientation for freshmen. Literally explaining the rules and regulations of the school and also the grading system etc etc. I already met who will be my classmates starting on Monday(December 6, 2010) and I so hope to have great friends among them. Wish me luck for monday! :)

Welcome to my new school! ♥

DVD Night

DISCLAIMER: All the photos were copied from Google. ☺

One of my all time favorite movie is My Best Friend's Wedding by Julia Roberts. I have actually watched it for the nth time, whenever I'm sad or I'm happy or I have nothing to watch or I'm bored or I have nothing to do, I instantly play it. It's comedy/drama, it can make you smile and laugh and be sad and cry at once. I really love it! ♥

So last night, together with my cousin, my older sis, my older sis' bf and a childhood friend, we watched it. Thank God I didn't cry or even shed a tear because they're teasing everyone, it was actually the first time I watched it and didn't cry. Haha. I swear! That's serious.

Here are some screencaps I got from Google, these are some of the tear-jerker scenes for me. :)

MICHAEL: Kimmy says when you love a person, you say it. You say it, right then. Out loud. Or the moment...
JULIANNE & MICHAEL: Just passes you by.
JULIANNE: I came here to bring you to the church. For you to marry the man of OUR dreams.

TWINS: Someday.. When I'm awfully low. When the world is cold, I will feel a glow just thinking of you.. And the way you look tonight. ♫♫♫

Where is the good in goodbye?

Earlier this day, Nanay and I went to a funeral of a family friend. Due to that, I realized that life is too short. Nothing is permanent. Everything can be taken away from us anytime. Our love ones, our money, our life aren't really ours. It's His. Right? And we cannot question Him for whatever He has done or He has been doing because everything we have was just given to us, everything's from Him. I get that but I will forever wonder why He would give us something or someone then He'll take it back in a snap.

Now what is more painful, not having someone at all or having someone then eventually losing him?

Black friday

It's black friday in the U.S. today because of the Thanksgiving. Black friday means big sale so a lot of people take it as a chance to shop. I got envious with the tweets and posts to tumblr of some people that's why I shopped on my mind. Hahahahaha. :D And I hoard shoes from Forever 21's website hence the shoes were copied from there. These are the shoes I bought using my mind:

Done! lol. They're gorgeous, right? I'm currently dying inside for not being able to buy these shoes truly. *sigh* So I'm gonna end this post with a quote from Blair Waldorf of Gossip Girl series.
"Whoever said money can't buy happiness doesn't know where to shop."

Aptitude Test

I took my aptitude test in Global Culinary and Hospitality Academy yesterday, it's one of their requirements to be able to get in. It was fine. The first part was Comprehension, then Math, then Abstract Reasoning and lastly an essay. It was not hard for my opinion.

After my exam, Mama(my mother's older sister) and I went to Gateway to eat then we went home. :)

Super Bowl

Sea food Chopsuey

Super Bowl Fried Rice

Mirror shot

That's all. xoxo

Current Addiction: Fro-Yo

I'm waaay over DQ. My current obsession is ta-nan Frozen Yogurt. I can eat 2-3 large cups in one sitting, beat that! lol. It's just sad that here in our place, Montalban Rizal, there's NO fro-yo available. It's SO depressing that I only get to eat it when I'm in the civilization. Haha. I'm just kidding, our place isn't as remote as it sounds. :) Here are two of my favorite Fro-Yo 'brands':
California Berry
Red Mango

Obviously, California Berry's presentation is much better compared to Red Mango. I don't know why but that's what I observed. But with the taste, both of them are to die for! Kill me if I'm wrong. >:D

Dream cars baby

I actually just have three dream cars, I can die once I've acquired those. Kidding aside. I really really love Mini Cooper. I totally do. I'm blinded by it. I want to have one in the near future.

I think it's perfect for me, right now. I am single and spontaneous. I started loving Mini Coopers since I've watched Mr. Bean. And that's once upon a time ago. MC is my first love when it comes to cars.

Second in line is none other than THE Hummer. I'm actually not a sucker of huge cars but when I saw a Hummer in person, I fell in love. I swear! That is SO true. My cousin actually witnessed my amusement. No joke. :D I, in fact, took a picture that time. And here it is: (SORRY FOR THE LOW QUALITY OF THE PICTURES, I JUST USED MY PHONE IN TAKING IT.)

Third is Lamborghini. Who wouldn't love this wonderful wonderful creation? Tell me. :p We just saw this yellow Lamborghini in C5 and I took a photo of it. I even asked my Kuya Jun to hurry driving and he told me we can't beat that one no matter how fast he'll drive. Haha. Okay, I just forgot that time that it's a sports car because of my excitement. lol

I'm gonna be fine without those yet I'm so sure that I'm going to be extremely and undeniably happy to acquire even just one of these three brilliant invention. Calling Tatay! Haha. JK. :)
